Preparing for Preschool

Class Description

This is a great class to get your child ready for preschool. This class explores circle time, ABC's the weather, days of the week, standing for the flag, etc. The class also includes educational themes, story time, crafts to enhance your child's fine motor skills, as well as practicing following directions.

Themes That We Cover

Feelings, saying please and thank you, making new friends/socializing, imaginary play with music, and of course the realization that it's ok for mommy and/or daddy to leave because they always come back. We ask parents to send in a little snack and drink.

Preschool

Class Description

We offer a 2 year old program (AM sessions only) and 3 year old program (AM and PM sessions available). We accept children in diapers and support those with separation issues, helping them adjust to the classroom while making friends and using their words instead of tears.

Going Above & Beyond

Our preschool program is a fun-filled academic curriculum which will get your child ready for kindergarten (Pre-K classes are also available). At Wisdom Tree Preschool, we believe in fostering an organic development approach, focusing on five key areas: cognitive, communication, social/emotional, physical, and adaptive skills. Our engaging curriculum is designed to stimulate your child's curiosity and ignite a lifelong love of learning. Through a vibrant mix of activities—from interactive center-based learning and rhythmic movement to captivating storytelling and enriching circle time—your child will develop crucial skills in a playful and supportive atmosphere. We incorporate themed Spirit Weeks, engaging Show & Tell sessions, and access to our in-house library program to further enhance their learning experience.

Beyond academics, we prioritize the development of crucial social skills. We actively encourage collaboration, communication, sharing, and empathy, helping your child build strong relationships with peers and educators. Our program introduces foundational concepts such as numbers, shapes, colors, and letters in age-appropriate and playful ways. We maintain open communication with parents, providing regular updates on your child's progress.

*Please note that potty training is not required for your child to be enrolled at Wisdom Tree Preschool.

AM & PM Pre-K Classes

Prepare your child for taking the next step into kindergarten with our Pre-K classes at Wisdom Tree Preschool. Your son or daughter is sure to love our organic, sensory-based learning style.

Developing an Awareness of Letters

Our Pre-K program focuses specifically on language, ensuring your child is quite familiar with words and letters before starting kindergarten.

• Ability to sort and organize objects based on different attributes
• Developing a basic vocabulary by listening to and identifying unknown words in stories
• Developing a strong sense of numbers
• Identifying numbers up to 20 and expressing different ways to represent numbers up to 20
• Recognizing basic shapes and units for measurement, time and weight
• Recognizing essential sight words in text
• Recognizing that letters have their own specific sounds
• Understanding the relationship of letters to words and words to sentences
• Center Based Program - the children rotate centers, which include academic & sensory /social centers

Mommy & Me

Class Description

This intimate class is for children ages 18 to 36 months, focusing on listening, understanding, conversation skills, sharing with others, and making new friends. Children will learn to us words to express their needs and themselves.

There is music time with many different instruments to play with, as well as arts and crafts, and fun with bubbles. Your child will learn social skills while making new friends and having fun just being a big kid!

Specialty Classes

Class Description

Wisdom Tree Preschool offers a wide variety of specialty classes and programs for children and their parents.

Monthly Date Night & Drop Off Classes

This is a great opportunity for parents to have a night out while your child spends their evening making fun crafts with new friends and enjoying free play time. Pizza is served and a movie is shown as well. Children can even wear their favorite pajamas!

Storybook Art CLass

In this class, children will hear a playful story, discuss it, and create an art project based on it. This hands-on approach helps them better understand the concepts and characters.

We will review the story's beginning, middle, and end, discuss characters' roles, share favorite parts, act it out, and create artwork using different textures.

Pre-K Music is with Mr. Adam King, children will learn the fundamentals of music through this Montessori based program.

Summer Camp

Camp Description

Our summer camp program at Wisdom Tree Preschool is designed for children ages 2 years to 7 years. It provides a variety of fun, hands-on experiences, including:

• Weekly Themed Activities

Separation Class

Class Description

The main goal of this class is to teach your child that they will be okay being away from you. The separation class works through a gentle process that helps "bridge the gap" during that difficult time transition from being with mom, and now going to preschool or having a new babysitter.

Each class is for one hour and thirty minutes. We emphasize that parents love us, yet it is also okay to be a big kid and go to school. We focus on each child's needs and feelings. We also work on letters, colors, and number recognition, as well as movement to music, story and craft time.
